‘Taker Teaming With Jeff Hardy

JIM ROSS: ‘Taker Vs. HBK

I personally enjoyed the old school HBK-Koslov bout. Koslov focusing on HBK’s back worked for me. Loved the closing moments that included a surprise appearance by the Undertaker. The Michaels vs. Undertaker WM25 bout will be special knowing these 2 men as I do. Both have contributed mightily at past ‘Manias and to be able to wrestle each other in Texas will be special for each of them.

‘Taker Backstage At Raw

Jason Powell of Prowrestling.net is reporting that The Undertaker is currently backstage at the site of Monday Night Raw tonight in Boston. At this time it has not been confirmed whether or not ‘Taker will appear on the show. As noted in our Raw coverage page, Shawn Michaels will be wrestling Vladimir Kozlov on tonight’s broadcast with the winner of the bout earning the right to challenge The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25. If ‘Taker is used on the show, it will most likely be to further this developing storyline.

Monday Night Raw Results February, 23rd 2009

JBL and his former employee, Shawn Michaels, went into their match on Monday night believing that the winner would have an opportunity to end Undertaker’s historic 16-0 WrestleMania winning streak. Accordingly, the two ring warriors took part in a hard-fought match that Michaels eventually won by way of some Sweet Chin Music. However, during the match, it was announced that the winner of the bout would have to next face SmackDown’s undefeated Vladimir Kozlov for the right to face The Phenom on The Grandest Stage of Them All. As HBK celebrated following the match, the Moscow Mauler himself made his way down to the ring, where he dropped his future opponent, giving Michaels a taste of what could be in store for him when he faces Kozlov on the next Raw.

Monday Night Raw Preview

Both Shawn Michaels and JBL want to be the one to put an end to Undertaker’s historic 16-0 winning streak, but only one of them can face The Phenom at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. HBK and the Longhorn Loudmouth have agreed to face off on the next Raw for the opportunity.

SmackDown House Show Results: Feb. 22nd

Undertaker b. Umaga

Umaga’s new song really sucks, it doesn’t have the punch his other theme had. Another good match, Umaga is a really good wrestler. Taker was hugely over. The end saw some nice back and forth action with some near falls until Umaga went for the Samoan Spike but Taker caught him with the Triangle Choke, Umaga passed out and it was over. After the match Taker posed for the crowd and the show was over without Lilian thanking the fans.

Biggest Pop:

1) The Undertaker
2) Triple H
3) Jeff Hardy
4) MVP
5) The Great Khali

SmackDown House Show Results: Feb. 21st

Jeff Hardy & The Undertaker defeated Umaga & Edge, with a Twist of Fate from Jeff over Edge, in 13:20 minutes. Matt Hardy ran-in to attack Jeff in the match.

After of the match, Matt tried to provoke Jeff, but Jeff refused to attack his brother and The Undertaker made the honors with Chokeslam on Matt.

Biggest Pops:

The Undertaker
Triple H
The Great Khali
MVP

SmackDown House Show Results: Feb. 20th

Jeff Hardy & The Undertaker defeated Edge & Umaga and the fans were nuts for the Undertaker.

JR: The Undertaker’s Retirement

JR on The Undertaker: We’ve never had such a conversation. Everyone seems to continue to predict Taker’s retirement but he’s never mentioned such to me. I think he has several good years left especially if his schedule is well managed.

Common, for the past 3 years this has been all the talk about ‘Taker, until he says it himself then he isn’t going to retire anytime soon.

Backstage Reaction to Undertaker/Big Show

The knockout finish to the Big Show and Undertaker match at last night’s WWE No Mercy pay-per-view is part of the company’s attempt to put more realistic parts in their matches. Backstage, the finish to the match didn’t go over as well as WWE officials had hopes and they felt that the spot with the exposed turnbuckle didn’t get over as it should have with the live crowd.

Yeah, ‘Taker did kind of look weak out there don’t ya think. Oh well, I don’t think I’m alone in assuming he’ll defeat Big Show in a month or so (depending on whether he takes a break) to end the feud.

Undertaker 3rd Greatest Wrestler Of All Time - UGO

UGO have listed what they think are the 50 greatest wrestlers of all time. Now before you go off on one, remember this is just the opinion of a few individuals, who’s criteria can only be described as random.

Of all the wrestlers on this list, none have had the tenacity and determination of Mark Callaway, the man we know as the Undertaker. One of only two wrestlers to appear on the first episode of Raw that is still with the company, the Deadman has dominated the ring for more than two decades and shows no sign of slowing down.

After debuting in 1990, he won the Heavyweight Championship from Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series. He also started his undefeated WrestleMania streak, which stands at an unbelievable 16-0 record. It’s impossible to recap all of his famous feuds, but we have to call special attention to his face-turning battle with Jake Roberts, his tenure as leader of the Ministry of Darkness, and his 2000 return from injury as the “American Bad Ass.”

Taker has always tried to mix up his arsenal, introducing new moves into his routine every few years, including his brutal new submission, the Gogolplata. Last seen chokeslamming Edge straight to Hell, we have no doubt that the Undertaker will always be there when we need him.

No Mercy Preview

Two colossal Superstars, Big Show and Undertaker, will square off at No Mercy, and the fate of SmackDown may very well lay in the wake of their epic battle.

After being reinstated by SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero – the same person who helped banish him from WWE in the first place – Undertaker returned to SmackDown with an irrepressible thirst for vengeance. He refused Guerrero’s pleas for forgiveness, making the dreadful proclamation that he would take her soul and send her to Hell at Unforgiven.

But, when the moment of wrecking arrived, the emerging Deadman was suddenly ambushed by Big Show. The World’s Largest Athlete formed an alliance with Guerrero, adding a mountain of power to her office, and making the annihilation of The Phenom his first order of business on his way to the WWE Championship.

Big Show has promised that if Undertaker is not sorry now for all he’s done to Guerrero, he will be. But, The Deadman has shown time and time again that he is not the forgiving kind – and with every passing day his anger grows as large as his opponent’s mighty fists.

Will Big Show bury Undertaker’s plans for revenge? Or will he become the largest occupant in Hell?

Find out which titan will have their way at No Mercy, live Sunday, Oct. 5, only on pay-per-view.

News on Taker's Knee

According to a fan in attendance at last night’s SmackDown tapings in Columbus, Ohio, Undertaker appeared to aggravate a knee injury during the dark match main event.

He was attacked by Curt Hawkins, Zach Ryder and Bam Neely during his match with Big Show, but eventually cleared the ring. He posed for the crowd and walked for a few minutes before momentarily sitting down on the ring steps before heading to the back.

“Honestly, he looked pretty bad off,” the fan in attendance said. “He was sitting there like he was so exhausted he couldn’t make it up the ramp. He finally walked up the ramp, but he was limping pretty badly. It wasn’t a little limp, it was very noticeable.”

Of course, he could be selling the injury, but he was playing to the crowd before sitting down.

As reported earlier, he recently had his knee checked by doctors and WWE has been limiting his involvement in the ring since his match with Edge at SummerSlam. Taker has been appearing on television in non-wrestling segments and has been working tag matches for the most part so that his partner could handle most of the work in the ring. Undertaker has been telling friends that his knee is still tender and that there is some soreness

Taker's Return Update

The word backstage at last Tuesday's SmackDown taping was that although Edge called off his wedding with Vickie Guerrero at the end of the show, the creative team is still planning a wedding event for the near future. One source was under the impression that there would still be a wedding this month, but that has not been confirmed.

The wedding was originally planned to take place this Friday night (at tomorrow night's taping), which won't be happening. I'm not sure why they delayed the wedding, but there has been plenty of speculation that Undertaker will return and disrupt the nuptials.

An Update on The Undertaker and Michelle McCool's Relationship

For the record, The Undertaker and Michelle McCool are indeed a couple.

It's not really a big secret, as they don't hide their relationship backstage. The relationship between the two has been rumored online for sometime now as the two have been photographed together many times.

Taker's Return

On the live Smackdown! event on July 2nd which will air Friday 4th July, the wedding for Edge and Vickie was called off after Edge argues and gets angry about his loss of the World title on Monday. The rumor of The undertaker returing at Edge and Vickies wedding may not come true, unless there is something that happens next week at the Smackdown! tapings. If nothing then the big rumor about him returning at SummerSlam may come true.

Undertaker & Triple H To Lead Smackdown Switch To New TV Network

The decision to move Triple H to SmackDown was actually made back around the time the deal with MyNetworkTV was reached. The network knew from the start that they would be marketing the show around The Undertaker and Triple H as the two biggest stars.

Right after WWE’s European tour after WrestleMania, The Undertaker, Edge, Vickie Guerrero and Triple H were brought in to the studio to tape promos for MyNetworkTV. Triple H’s promo had him spitting water into the camera saying, “You’re watching Friday Night SmackDown right here on MyNetwork TV.” The fact that Batista wasn’t there for the promos shows that the decision was made that far back.

Those promos will begin airing this fall. Only a few people knew of the promos and had to sign a non-disclosure agreement which expired on 6/24, because the info was released on 6/23. The actual filming was finished in April and the ads were completed in late May.
