As the world waits to see what Mr. McMahon’s million-dollar giveaway will bring, Undertaker has a different type of prize on his mind: The World Heavyweight Championship. On SmackDown, just two days before their TLC Match at One Night Stand, Edge hosted The Cutting Edge with his special guest: The Phenom.

The Rated-R Superstar and The Undertaker have had a wild ride ever since Edge came to SmackDown last year, cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to steal the World Heavyweight Championship away from The Deadman.

The events leading up to their hellish confrontation on Sunday have proved to be one powder keg after another. Edge and his fiancĂ©e, General Manager Vickie Guerrero, continue to conjure up ways to stop Undertaker and once again make the Ultimate Opportunist the World Heavyweight Champion. First, the GM stripped The Phenom of his title, deeming The Deadman’s devastating submission maneuver an illegal choke hold. Then, when it appeared Undertaker had reclaimed the gold at Judgment Day via count-out, Guerrero once again turned the tables, determining that the title remain vacant.

Before introducing his special guest, the Rated-R Superstar did what he does best — gave his audience a show they would never forget. He kicked things off by showing highlights of his success in TLC Matches; footage that showed just how much of an art form he has made out of that type of contest.

When Undertaker finally made his way to the ring, complete with a ladder on display, Edge proceeded to make him feel more comfortable. He called on “The Family,” who quickly brought a casket down to ringside. Chavo Guerrero, Bam Neely, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder then attacked The Deadman, not stopping until he was inside the closed coffin.

When Edge decided to ascend the ladder to taunt The Phenom, giving his own prediction of what would happen at One Night Stand, the lights went out on him, literally. When they came back on, Undertaker was suddenly standing on the ladder with the Rated-R Superstar. The Deadman then knocked Edge to the floor, using the ladder to clean house. Undertaker then took Edge in his clutches, when Ryder sacrificed himself, receiving a Last Ride through a table. As the show came to a close, it was The Undertaker who held the vacant title above his head.

At One Night Stand on Sunday, there is more than just the World Heavyweight Championship hanging in the balance. Could The Phenom go home with the gold, or just go home for good?

The Undertaker Smackdown to Raw

“Sources are reporting that several WWE Superstars have had it with Triple H, and many backstage are described as being on “pins and needles” when it comes to Vince McMahon’s son-in-law.

Triple H’s name has been mentioned as a possible move to SmackDown during the WWE Draft on 6/23, and there are plenty on the RAW roster that would applaud the move.

If Triple H is indeed moved to SmackDown, a possible switch would have The Undertaker moved to RAW.”

Spoilers - Detailed SmackDown Taping Results - 30/05/08

As SmackDown! starts, Edge appears on the Titantron announcing that throughout the evening, he will be showcasing the impressive career of The Undertaker, as this will be his last night on SmackDown, and he is the special guest for 'The Cutting Edge' later in the evening.

Cutting Edge segment - World Title hanging above the ring, with Ladder and Table set up, and chairs in the corners. Edge talked a lot about the same old same old, then introduced the Deadman. Once Taker was in the ring, the two circled around the ladder, looking up at the title, with Edge saying how Taker might not be so comfortable with TLC equipment around. With that, Edge called out La Familia (Chavo, Bam Neely, Hawkins, & Ryder) who wheeled out a casket. Undertaker chased Edge from the ring, and got jumped and beat down on the outside. After a while of this going back and forth, Edge nails Taker with a chair and is able to roll him into the casket. Edge then climbed up the ladder, saying that Undertaker better get used to staying buried, as his last match would be this Sunday. Then the lights went out. On TV this'll probably look different, but live from ringside you could see Undertaker roll out from underneath the ring, probably from a trap door in the casket, run in and climb the up the ladder. When the lights came back on Edge was eye to eye with the Phenom. Taker knocked Edge down and proceeded to fight with Hawkins and Ryder again. Just when it looked like Edge was going to get chokeslammed through the table, Hawkins /or Ryder (can't tell them apart) intervened and was rewarded with a Last Ride through the table as Edge backed up the ramp.

That is where I believe SmackDown went off the air, but the action didn't stop there. La Familia ran back in the ring again to gang up on The Undertaker, and just as he was getting overwhelmed again, Kane came out to help his brother. The Brothers of Destruction double-chokeslammed Hawkins and Ryder, then Bam Neely was chokeslammed by Kane as Edge was Tombstoned by Undertaker. Kane and Taker walked up the ramp, posed, and the show was over.

All in all, not too bad for a SmackDown. Colorado definitely needs a PPV here.

Undertaker vs Edge TLC Match for World Heavyweight Championship

Sunday, June 1, 2008

On SmackDown, General Manager Vickie Guerrero announced that the still-vacated World Heavyweight Championship would be decided in a Table, Ladders and Chairs Match between Edge and Undertaker at One Night Stand. Despite our fans’ emphatic disapproval, Vickie also threatened Undertaker’s future as a WWE Superstar.

“If Undertaker loses this match, this will be the last time you see him. Because if he loses his match, he will be banished from the entire WWE,” she declared.

At One Night Stand, the Ultimate Opportunist will continue on his path to obtain the gold, with the help of his influential fiancée. How will The Phenom fare in a contest Edge has built his career on? He has lost only one TLC Match at Unforgiven in 2006, but clearly he has the overwhelming advantage.

The title has been without a holder since Guerrero stripped Undertaker of the gold. The decision was prompted by The Deadman’s repeated use of an illegal choke hold – including against the GM’s fiancĂ© Edge at WrestleMania XXIV and Backlash. Then, after defeating Edge at Judgment Day, she inhibited him from reclaiming the title, insisting that a count-out victory over Edge could not grant him the gold.

The Deadman has been known to use extreme force to take out whoever stands in his way. And with the prospect of being banished from WWE, it’s possible he may unleash more fury on Edge than our fans have ever witnessed.

After all that has happened between Undertaker and Edge over the past year, it is time for one of them to claim the “richest prize in the game” at One Night Stand. But until then, the question still lingers: Who will be the next World Heavyweight Champion?

Detailed Smackdown Spoilers

Vickie Guerrero comes out on the ramp stage with Edge to start the show. She says that Charles Robinson made a mistake at the PPV by Counting out Edge and awarding the title to Undertaker, since a title can’t be won by countout. Keeping in tradition with the Extreme Rules of One Night Stand, Edge will fight Taker in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match there. She also said if Taker loses, he’ll be banished from the WWE. Thanks WWE for telling us that Taker will win before it happens.

At some point early on in the show, Chavo says that he’s sorry for not making it out for the Undertaker match last week. Vickie books Chavo versus the Undertaker for tonight. Edge says don’t worry the family will be out with there with you.

Undertaker pinned Chavo Guerrero. Taker hits Old School early on. Taker ends out outside of the ring and Edge and the Edgeheads begin puting the boots to him. Charles Robinson throws them out. Chavo hits a low blow while Robinson was distracted. Chavo goes up top for the Frog Splash, but Taker sits up before Chavo jumped off. So, Chavo comes off with a crossbody or something and Taker caught him and delivered the Tombstone Piledriver for the win.

Afterward, Edge, Hawkins, and Ryder return and along with Neely, it’s a four-on-one on Taker. Kane’s music hits and his pyro goes off. He comes to the ring. A chokeslam fest occurred with the Brothers of Destruction delivering them. Chavo is left alone with the brothers and Kane gives him a Tombstone Piledriver. The brothers pose for a bit and then Kane exits the ring to his music. Taker’s music plays and he exits the ring. He meets up with Kane midway up the ramp. They walk to the top, look back to the audience, and do their arm raise before exiting the arena.

Brock Lesnars Favorite Opponent

Brock Lesnar made an in-studio appearance on KFAN radio in the Twin Cities on Tuesday and answered fan questions regarding pro wrestling. A caller asked about Undertaker. “Big Mark Calaway, he’s a good guy,” Lesnar said. “I had an opportunity to work with him a bunch and he helped me out quite a bit… Mark, the Undertaker, is a huge fan of mixed martial arts and I appreciated him being at the fight too. That was cool.”

He said his top 3 opponents were Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and Big Show. You can listen to the full interview by visiting KFAN.com.

Listeners Note: The caller who asked about Undertaker wanted to know what his ground game is like. Lesnar said it was good…for WWE and then laughed. He clearly respected Taker. It was obvious that he was biting his tongue when Vince’s name was brought up and even the host, who is tight with Brock, was laughing about that.

Judgment Day Results - Vickie Strikes Again

The Judgment is in, and the verdict? The World Heavyweight Championship is still vacant, thanks to more of Vickie Guerrero’s meddling. From Wrestlezone, full and detailed results.

The following match is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Edge comes out first, The Undertaker’s spectacular entrance is next. Michael Cole notes that The Undertaker has only beat Edge twice - once at WrestleMania and once at Backlash both times in which he used the Gogoplata (which is still not being named). Justin Roberts gets the formal introductions since this match is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Charles Robinson is your referee as he calls for the bell. Undertaker is all business as he squares off against Edge. Undertaker pushes Edge down to the mat, Edge goes to the outside to quickly regroup. Edge connects some right hands on Undertaker. They do not have much affect as he puts Edge in the corner and hits right hands of his own. Undertaker chokes Edge and uses the ropes for leverage. Charles Robinson calls for a break at five. Undertaker gets Edge to the outside. He slams Edge’s shoulder into the steel ring post. Undertaker puts Edge back into the ring. Undertaker works Edge over in the corner.

Undertaker ‘rope walks’ with Edge but Edge counters perfectly knocking Undertaker off the ropes. Edge stomps away at Undertaker, causing him to retreat to the outside. Edge uses right hands from the apron onto Undertaker on the outside. Undertaker throws him off the apron onto the crowd control barrier. Undertaker works Edge over on the outside connecting a big head butt. Undertaker clears his count and goes back to work on Edge. Edge throws Undertaker into the steel ring steps. Edge gets back in the ring. Edge goes off the ropes and hits a baseball slide on Undertaker who is on the outside. Undertaker falls down on the outside. Edge roles Taker back in. Edge heatbutts The Undertaker in the corner. Undertaker counters with headbutts of his own. Undertaker whips Edge into the turnbuckles, Edge counters. Edge goes right for the cover for a two count. Edge stomps Undertaker in the midsection. Edge uses several right hands but Undertaker counters with his own right hands. Edge finally gains the advantage with a kick to the ankle of Undertaker. Edge is on the outside, working on Undertaker in the ring. Edge pulls Undertaker into the turnbuckles, wrapping his legs around the steel ring post. Edge gets back in the ring, lands several right hands.

Undertaker counters but Edge is able to build a counter of his own. Undertaker goes for the banned choke as Edge goes for the cover. Edge climbs to the top, attempts to ‘rope walk’ with Undertaker. Taker counters, sending Edge to the mat. Undertaker looks to build momentum with right hands. Edge gives rights of his own. Undertaker goes off the ropes onto Edge. He follows with a splash times two in two separate corners. Undertaker tosses Edge into the corner and gets a two count. Undertaker ‘rope walks’ with Edge, he connects. Undertaker goes for the Tombstone but here come Ryder and Hawkins. They distract Taker, he drops Edge. The Edgeheads distract Charles Robinson as Edge exposes the turnbuckle by removing the cover. Undertaker counters and goes for the Last Ride but Edge counters with a DDT. Edge gets a near fall at 2 1/2. Edge goes for the spear but Undertaker side steps it. Undertaker goes for the Last Ride, he gets a modified version in the corner on Edge. Undertaker gets a two count.

Undertaker picks up Edge, looks to go for the Tombstone. Edge counters Undertaker into the corner of the ring where the turnbuckle is exposed. Edge nails several rights on Undertaker, Taker hits Edge with Snake Eyes in the exposed turnbuckle. Charles Robinson starts the double countout. Undertaker goes off the ropes right into a Spear from Edge. He gets a two count. The crowd is heavily behind The Undertaker but Edge is in control. Undertaker starts to fight back, it’s a slug fest with both men on their feet exchanging right hands. They have the crowd as Undertaker grabs Edge by the throat. Edge counters but Undertaker ends up hitting the chokeslam after another attempt. 2 1/2 count. Undertaker kicks Edge to the outside. Undertaker clotheslines Edge over the crowd control barrier. Charles Robinson goes outside to check on them, then back in the start the double countout.

Now it’s a race back to the ring, they fight all the way back, basically crawling. Robinson is at 9 but Undertaker is in. Edge is counted out at 10.

Winner via countout & new World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker

As Undertaker is being announced, Vickie Guerrero interrupts. From a wheel chair on the ramp with Hawkins and Ryder on the ramp she tries to quiet the crowd.

Vickie finally says that it is common knowledge - she is interrupted by a tremendous amount of heat. This is great, she is the most hated person that I have seen in WWE in a LONG time. You should hear the heat she is getting! She says that it is common knowledge that a title cannot be won via DQ or countout therefore the World Heavyweight Title remains vacant. She tells The Undertaker he is not the new Champion. Taker looks on with the belt in his hands. Undertaker pulls Edge back in the ring from over the top rope. He hits the Tombstone as Vickie begs him not to do it. Vickie stands up and calls Taker an SOB. The scene ends with Edge being removed from the ring, Vickie storming away, and Undertaker looking on, swearing that he is going to ‘Hurt Edge Bad’.

Smackdown Spoilers 13, May 2008

Show opened with La Familia coming to the ring and discussing that Edge experienced a “medical miracle” last week when he was able to win the Championship Chase and nothing would stop him from winning the title at Judgment Day.

Teddy Long was out next and told Vickie that he was at Titan Towers all day in Stamford after she yelled at him for being late and not returning her calls. He went on to read a statement from the WWE Board of Directors that said Vickie would either need to wrestle in her 1st ever match tonight and be out as GM of Smackdown.

Vickie did more yelling and went on to fire Long for going behind her back. He told her she could not do that and quit. On the way back to the locker room, he told her that The Undertaker would be her opponent tonight.

– Vickie, Edge and Chavo tried to cope with what was before them, when MVP, Finlay and Big Show all expressed their gripes with being “used” in the Championship Chase and then making fun of her having to face Undertaker.

– Vickie informed the audience that the main event would now be a 6-on-1 Handicap Match with herself, Edge, Chavo, Bam Neely, Ryder and Hawkins facing The Undertaker.

– The Undertaker fought Vickie Guerrero, Edge, Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins to a No Decision.

La Familia all came out together, but as everyone walked (and Vickie was wheeled) to the ring, Chavo and Neely stopped short and returned to the back, making it a 4-on-1.

Vickie was in the ring in her wheelchair with Edge and the Edgeheads as her human shield. Taker went right at them and was occupied for the most part by Ryder and Hawkins. Each time he looked to have the advantage, Edge would make it 3-on-1 and neutralize him again.

Finally, Undertaker reversed the momentum of the Edgeheads on an irish whip attempt and sent them outside the ring. He then gave a big boot to Edge and he was out. He turned his attention to Vickie and went to deliver a chokeslam. As he hoisted and held her by the throat, he turned and was met with an Edge spear. Vickie was saved and everyone retreated up the ramp. The referee jumped out of the ring and Taker did the throat slash to seemingly end the taping.

Taker then got down with his back to his foes and they returned to get an advantage again, with Vickie at the top of the ramp. Kane’s music hit and he wheeled her to the ring. He and Taker took out their foes and Taker was eventually able to Tombstone Vickie to a huge response.

Taker left the ring while Vickie sold and Teddy Long came out and tried to get Kane to dance. He was successful and then Mick Foley and Michael Cole joined the mix while the fans ate it up and went home happy.

Vince’s Decision

Vince McMahon made the call to strip The Undertaker of the World Heavyweight Title on 4/25. Vince has been taking a more serious creative role for all three of WWE’s brands as of late.

Is this even news? Whether it was Vince’s idea or not, he obviously made the final call. That is of course assuming that ‘Taker didn’t request to drop the title himself so he could take some time off over the next few weeks.

WWE Biography

Name: The Undertaker
Height: 6 ft 10"
Weight: 295 lbs
From: Death Valley
Signature Moves: Chokeslam; Tombstone; Last Ride; Gogoplatta
WWE Debut: Nov. 22, 1990
Career Highlights: WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, World Tag Team Champion, WCW Tag Team Champion, Hardcore Champion, Royal Rumble 2007 winner, undefeated at WrestleMania (16-0)

From the moment his signature gong fills the air, The Undertaker captivates WWE fans by his mere presence. The Deadman from Death Valley is usually a man of few words, but he can intimidate even the toughest WWE Superstars with just one glance. His somber persona has been a terrifying trademark of WWE for over 15 years and no list of WWE all-time greats can be considered complete without Undertaker.

First seen at the 1990 Survivor Series, Undertaker was introduced as the final member of Ted DiBiase’s “Million Dollar Team.” Since then he has come to be a multiple time WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, and maintained a WrestleMania undefeated streak that currently stands at an impressive 15-0 after defeating Batista at WrestleMania 23. The Deadman has defeated such Superstars as Randy Orton, Triple H, “Sycho” Sid, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Bret “Hitman” Hart and Jake “The Snake” Roberts to earn his many titles and keep his WrestleMania streak intact. In October 2007, The Deadman also became the first man to break free from The Great Khali’s Vise Grip to defeat the 7-foot-3, 420-pound colossus as well.

Throughout his time in WWE, Undertaker has notoriously disappeared for months at a time; often thought dead and “resting in peace,” The Phenom always mysteriously returns to the ring to seek vengeance against those who have sent him away. From Yokozuna to Kane to Edge, Undertaker always finds a way to claim the souls of those who have wronged him.

In addition to his solo success, Undertaker has been quite the team player throughout his career. From his lengthy relationship with manager Paul Bearer to spearheading the Ministry of Darkness (which included the recruitment of Superstars such as the Acolytes, The Brood, Mideon & Viscera), The Phenom has been successful in every venture. He has even earned multiple World Tag Team Championships, standing alongside the likes of The Rock, Stone Cold, Big Show and his own brother, Kane.

In fact, the Big Red Monster is the ally-turned-adversary (and often back again) that Undertaker continuously comes to crosses with. Kane made his WWE debut by costing his brother the first-ever Hell in a Cell Match, and while their relationship is always turbulent, they have seen eye-to-eye on many occasions as well. They’ve been opponents at multiple WrestleManias, but they’ve also held the World Tag Team Championship together; a true theme for brothers in all walks of life.

The Undertaker also has many firsts to his credit. Aside from being the originator of the Tombstone Piledriver, he has also taken part in the inaugural Hell in a Cell Match – against Shawn Michaels in October 1997 – as well as the first-ever Casket Match, which saw him defeat Kamala at Survivor Series 1992.

Throughout it all, Undertaker has remained one of WWE’s most popular Superstars while becoming one of its most decorated – another trend that should continue until the day The Deadman’s illustrious career finally does rest in peace.

The Undertaker

Mark William Calaway (born March 24, 1965) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name The Undertaker. He is signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), wrestling on its SmackDown! brand.

Calaway began his wrestling career with World Class Championship Wrestling in 1984. He joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1989. When WCW did not renew Calaway's contract at the end of 1990, in November of that year he joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which became WWE in 2002. Having remained with that company ever since, Calaway is currently one of the senior performers in WWE. He is one of only two wrestlers, the other being Shawn Michaels, to have appeared on the very first episode of Raw who are still with the company today.

He is undefeated at WrestleMania with a 16-0 record and is a six-time world champion (four-time WWE Champion and two-time World Heavyweight Champion). He was also the winner of the 2007 Royal Rumble.
